On this day, Sept. 8th the worldwide chart topping hit “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head” was released in 2001
#1 in 19 countries and top 10 position in even more territories.
The song is credited to Rob Davis and Cathy Dennis who is a singer on her own but gave her biggest hit so far to Kylie. Anyhow it’s easy to recognize some portions of New Orders Blue Monday in it.

Prince Live at Stadthalle Vienna 13th July 2010

Just because I went to see Prince & 3rdEyeGirl again now I discovered some pics I’ve done the last time they played vienna. The concert wasn’t as good as the 2014 gig and my phone wasn’t as good as it is now. so the pictures are almost some kinda “poor”. Anyhow I like Prince and even it the picture a not brilliant it’S a little impression for you and a nice reminder to me

Prince & 3rdEyeGirl Live at Stadthalle Vienna Saturday 07th June 2014

This newspaper print was the second one that where handed out for free to the audience at the venue.

Both from the tour presending newspaper “Österreich” (which translate “Austria” and is a daily newspaper like “The Sun”, so not the most serious one)

It’s all about how great the show was and how greatful vienna and the audience are that Prince celebrated such a big party last night. It was the daily paper as sold on the newsstands but with a aditional different cover pages to review the show - ready printed and handed out the moment the show was over, so the information inside can not really be taken as a serious review.Anyhow “nice to read” what a great show it just was :-) but none of the pictures used where actually taken at the show.

There also some speculation about the possibly happening aftershow and where would be the place to be.

The gossip part talks about the hotel and that Prince forced them to regulete the room on exactly 26 degrees celcius, no stairs no pictures on the wall etc. Well, as mentioned before “Österreich” is a gossip paper, so they can not do without.

With their online edition they had more gossip on the aftershow party that not really has taken place, but they “knew” that they had wiskey that cost 400 Euro each but they forgot to mention, that Prince does not drink alcohol. Wouldn’t make a good story if they did…

The content starts with a preview of the “complete setlist” which obvious was fake, ‘cause there was no official setlist beforehand and the published one was just the list of songs that where played in Paris before. It also has a lot of pictures fron recent shows Prince & 3rdEyegirl did and some kind of review on his showprogram that has happend before.

Another part of the paper is on the fact that the show was just announce a couple of days before and is a kind of “surprise” gift for Prince’s birthday and therefore it will be a huge party.

The midlepage had the tourposter as a foldout print and the next is a review on the history of  prince entiteld “Genius and Madness” about the fantastic carrer and the strange things that where told about Prince.

Prince & 3rdEyeGirl Live at Stadthalle Vienna Saturday 07th June 2014

Most likely the best Prince concert I’ve seen ‘till now - and I’ve seen him several times before. Not that I ever saw a “bad” one, but this night was magic!

In the beginning I wasn’t sure if the show has the potential to be great as the doors did not open and the soundcheck gos on and on and on, what normaly is a quite bad sign. If Prince s not satisfied with the sound, he might not be in the mood for a great show. Finally we get in and this time you knew by the moment he appears “this will be a fantastic evening”. He grins to the audience and obvioulsy loved to play, had a great mood and was full of energy from the very beginning.

There wasn’t a single moment of “boring” time, not one “filling song” or any second where nothing happens on stage. Prince and the three girls, sometimes with additional help on the keybords managed to play with 100% power all nite long. There was a “wall of sound” like you stand in front of a 12 piece band and there wasn’t a single moment that got out of Prince’s control. Just a finger sign and the song stoped “on the four” or he got “2” drum beats followed by “10”. He even directed the audience to sing different phrases left of stage or right. The men got other lines than the women and everybody follows.

It wasn’t important which song was played, it was a hit anyhow. For more than 1 and a half hour he played a “Best Of” set. After that some of the new songs got their place betwen more of his iconic hit material and everybody was enjoying it even more. This was so much more a big party Than a concert!

You don’t even miss the “normal” atmosphere of people taking photos and films with their mobile device. Sometimes you feel like “wow, this would make a great picture”, but then you had no time to think about that any longer as the party goes on and on with even more exiting moments.Taking pictures was not allowed and the security was looking for everybody who tries, so no real “good” pictures could be done.

Some while before Prince starts with a almost never ending row of encores he ask everybody to put out their mobile and that’s when these little stage shot where done, but he was right. That can’t capture the show, can’t even get close to what happened on stage.

All the other pics are done “in the sorounding”. It’s the billbord that was postered in vienna and I found one on a contruction site, already stickered with another one on on top, but I could manage to restore it. You see the cue in front of the doors, my ticket for the “golden circle”, the standing area in front of the stage and the “normal” standing audience outside the “golden circle”. Well, and the stage after the party was over, the floor covered with “purple rain” (paper pieces) that have been blown into the air while playing the final sequence of Purple Rain.
